Welcoming a newborn into the world is a joyful yet overwhelming experience, especially for first-time parents. With so many baby products available, it’s easy to feel lost and unsure of where to start. Many new parents struggle to determine which items are truly essential and which are unnecessary. Wet wipes
Waterproof sheet / waterproof diaper changing mat
Diaper changing station
Bath towels

Nipple pad (Required only if you are leaking breast milk)

Cleaning & Hygiene:
UV sterilizer & dryer for milk bottles
Airtight containers to keep sterilized milk bottles & teats
Bottle brush & teat brush
Soap for baby milk bottles
2 round plastic containers (Medium size. For washing baby bottles. 1 for containing soaped milk bottles & accessories, another for containing washed milk bottles & accessories (after which, transport these washed milk bottles & accessories into the UV sterilizer)
Baby clothes detergent
Clothing:
Onesies
One-piece pajamas *Note: For onesies & one-piece pajamas, choose those with snaps at the crotch for easy diaper change & envelope folds at the shoulders to make it easier to pull the outfit over the baby's head or slide it down over the body
Soft cap
Shirts (Choose those with envelope folds at the shoulders to make it easier to pull the outfit over the baby's head or slide it down over the body)
Pants
Socks
Hand mittens
Feeding:
Small napkins (Cleaning baby's mouth after milk time, cover shoulders in case baby vomits during burb time. Can also be used for showering baby.)
Bibs
Newborn milk bottles + nipple teats (Ensure the teat size is meant for newborn. I suggest 8 bottles so that you can accumulate the bottles before having to wash it in a day. Buy milk bottle brands that can easily change the nipple teats to accommodate for baby's growth. Some brands sell their teats expensively. Before purchasing the particular brand of milk bottle, check the prices of its accessories (e.g. nipple teats) as well)
Milk warmer
Formula milk powder (In case breastmilk is insufficient, you can rely on formula milk powder)
Health & Safety:
Baby-friendly stomach massage oil (For colic / gas relief)
Baby nail clipper
Baby cotton buds
In-ear thermometer
IP Camera / Baby monitor
Miscellaneous / Extras for Comfort & Convenience:
Pacifiers* (I did not use pacifiers for both my kids at all)
Mummy’s Clothing & Comfort:
Nursing bra
Postpartum Recovery:
Maternity pads
Postpartum recovery binder
Confinement nanny
Sleeping:
Baby bassinet or cot + mattress (Get those that you can easily adjust the height, to suit with the height of your bed & can last longer with baby's growth. Best with an option to unzip one side, so that you can easily carry baby out from the side of your bed to breastfeed)
Mattress cover
Waterproof mattress protector
Swaddle / muslin cloth (For swaddling newborn while they sleep, giving them sense of security. I progressed my kids to normal pajamas after 5 days - 1 week, to give their body space to grow)
Baby blanket
Baby pillow (Can get those that can prevent flathead)
Travel & Outdoor:
Milk powder storage container / dispenser
Baby stroller (Great if you can get those that you can open & close with just 1 hand)
Baby carrier with hip seat booster (The hip seat booster comes in handy when baby is older & gives more support & space for ventilation while being strapped to you)
Child seat for car (Consider getting one that swivels, allowing the seat to face the car door. This makes it much easier to place your baby in and take them out, reducing strain on your back over time)
Insulated Milk cooler bag + reusable ice pack (For storing expressed breastmilk when outside)
Diaper + milk bag (For carrying all of baby's necessities while outdoors)
Waterproof sheet / waterproof diaper changing mat
Playtime:
Baby play mat
Teething toys
Baby rocker / bouncer
